rotating mat on inkscape 0.47

I just downloaded Inkscape 0.47 and was wondering how does one change the mat on the screen from a Vertical position to a Horizontal position? I'm hoping this doesn't sound toooo dumb!

If you look at the top toolbar in inkscape there is a wrench and a screwdriver overlapping each other.. Right next to it is a double prong image which is edit properties.. click on that and another window opens which shows sizes for paper size.. look partway down and you'll see two options portrait or landscape... click on the one you want.. but click on the paper size first...or set the size of paper you want manually.
