Blurry pattern HELP

Post by CrossHairSB »

Hi Grand people!
I'm just noticing when I do a pattern fill...the resolution image is not as sharp as the original. Is there anyway I can increase the sharpness?
Thank you,
Best,
Ken

The on-screen version is not what will print. SCAL always has two versions saved... an original for printing and a lower resolution for display which helps prevent lagging and possible crashes when making duplicates or utilizing other raster images in the project. If the print also happens to be fuzzy, then the original image is being enlarged beyond a suitable resolution and this issue will occur in any software program you use.

The background image was 3000x2000. Thanks for your reply, was hoping I had a setting wrong. The product came out a tad blurry & customer did not like it at all. If you could suggest any other possibilities please do. I create a product for musicians.

Well, perhaps do the same thing in some other program, such as Inkscape (which happens to be free, open sourced software) or any other graphical program you want to test. Just make sure you're comparing apples to apples. I had someone try to prove this to me the other day but she wasn't even using the same size design to print from SCAL and from whatever other program she was claiming gave better results. Of course, anytime you enlarge a raster image such as a pattern, it's going to get blurrier the larger it's printed. Her response after I had her do equivalent designs using equivalent print settings on her printer was "never mind, sorry, it was me."

I understand how stretching an image will increase the blurriness. But shouldn't be the case here. https://www.dropbox.com/s/nzlx7exqbq7tix0/Nick.jpg?dl=0 Can you place this in your program and notice how blurry it gets? I will try the inkscape suggestion...thank you.

Are you printing the entire image? If so, at what size? I'll do my best to match it but my printer will only print up to 13" x 19".
