Does this "Greedy Provocraft" really surprise anyone? OMG not me! They don't give a hoot about their customer base, they are just after the bottom line $$$$$$$$$$$$ and judging by the amount we are ripped off in Australia for a cartridge and even for the machines, pffffft I vow NEVER to buy one of their carts ever! They can do their damn best, cos no matter what they do, in this digital age, there is always a way around it
Keep on SCAL'ing guys n gals

You pay that much for SCAL? Why would anyone buy it from a LSS or eBay knowing they could get it online way cheaper?Tingha Treasures wrote:Im with you Kris!!! Cant believe how we are ripped off here. SCAL is $120-$160 through LSS and even ebay.
Re: Greedy Provocraft
Provo Craft really does not give a damn about their customers. I emailed them for help with my cricut about 2, to 2 1/2 weeks ago because it's been tearing paper when it cuts smaller objects since I got it, and THEY NEVER EVEN RESPONDED. Surprise, surprise, as that seems to be their attitude in general towards their customers. Provo Craft, we're not here for you & we're not listening (visual, child-like sticking their fingers in their ears) should be their motto.
By contrast, Todd from SCAL usually replies to emails in 5 FREAKING MINUTES!!! I really have developed negative feelings towards PC these last several months that I never had before, even though they rip people off by the exorbitance of their cost, that never caused me to be angry, but their attitude of sheer disrespect both for helping their customers but also to listening to what we have to say and what we want--which the authors of SCAL do, has. It's like the difference between the abusive boyfriend you keep coming back to because he's got something you need, vs. the nice guy who treats you well and you want to marry. Scrapbookers are a die-hard passionate lot, but they are only going to tolerate so much.
And the stupid thing is, buying SCAL didn't make me not want to buy Design Studio because I have SCAL, it showed me what you can do with that type of program, and the fact that there is a lot of shared files and designs you can download to use with it, from other people who have been playing around with it, and as a result it actually helped me to want DS for the extra versatility (.cut files as well as .svg & .scut)
Provo Craft are idiots--if they were smart, they'd use this to their advantage, not try to control their customers & ignore what we have to say. Evolve & adapt, throw out font carts & focus instead on new & creative shape carts, and characters like their Hello Kitty, Tink, WTP and so forth. Or things that people could do in scal or inkscape if they wanted to but if PC makes it easier, people might go for that too. Re-releasing something like DS so people have to re-buy is just slimy.
All I can say is, I hope that SCAL continues to unblock DS's attempts to screw around with their customers, if for no other reason than to let PC know that THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. If they had any understanding at all of their customers, they would realize that SCAL hasn't interfered with their profits anyway--people like myself who are die-hard scrapbookers, had I not found scal, would eventually have (& was going to, when I could afford to do so) just buy another system like the Quickutz Silhouette (I think it's that one, and pazzles, but I could be wrong because it's been a while since I looked into it) specifically so that I could cut any true type fonts, it just would have cost me triple or quadruple what scal cost and would not have allowed me as much versatility.
Sorry about the rant, but this really ticks me off
