modified trace image reverts to original trace

Post by Tpostma »

I've been using the pnc feature for over a year now; there are a few glitches that I've worked around except this: after modifying nodes to create a cleaner cut (when I'm deleting nodes); I save the file; then I try to make duplicates of that image for batch cutting but when I copy/duplicate the image, it reverts back to the original trace and adding back the nodes I'd deleted. It is a hassle to modify the multiples of images after I had already done it. Is there anything I can do differently? Many Thanks!

The first thing to do is update SCAL5 to the latest 5.051 and verify that the same thing is happening. If so, I will do testing on my Mac and PC and report it to the developer as a bug. Here's the link to the latest update:

Also, are you importing PNG's that have a transparent background which then import with the trace lines in place? Or are you importing PNGs (or JPGs, BMP, etc) with a white background? I will go ahead and test this out but it helps to know what you're using that definitely causes this. Thanks!

I had updated to 5.051 (transposed numbers in original message. Doesn't seem to matter if backgrounds are transparent or not; it reverts on both file types. Thanks for looking into it!

I just tested on my Mac with no issues. Here's what I did. Traced an imported image. Ungrouped and hid original image. Brought up the nodes and dragged one of the nodes far enough away to make it quite noticeable. Then I turned on Show for original image, regrouped it with the editing tracing. Then used the Object>Duplicate function to make an array of repeats. All repeats had the same node "sticking out." What are you doing differently? A video would be very helpful.
