it doesn't matter what size you save an svg file in inkscape. what matters is how a particular software opens it. I can make something in inkscape & it opens fine in Wisblade or Robomaster.

Using your flower as an example, if I save it & then open in wishblade or robomaster, each piece would be the same proportion as they are/were in inkscape. I can group the sections of each piece together & move around each piece separately.

would you mind posting a screen shot of what it looks like when you open that flower file in SCAL?

I was looking at the files on the designs section of this forum.
It appears that those who have successfully cut designs and mats have saved both to one .svg file and put 2 different colors of paper on their cricut mat before inserting into the machine for cutting.

I can not find where anyone has successfully manipulated individual pieces to keep the components proportionately sized for cutting.

open up scal & import what you were talking about.
press the prt sc button on your keyboard.
open up any image editing software or microsoft power point or paint & paste it, save as an image & post just as you did the image of the flower.

The print screen button isn't doing anything. I don't know what else to do.
Thanks so much for your help.

I need to go out for a while but I'll be back later tonight!

the print screen button acts just like right clicking & selecting copy. you just need to paste the image on whatever screen you open.

apparently one has to use something called a "snipping tool" in VISTA. The print screen feature doesn't do that in the Vista platform.

Hopefully this works. I used the snipping tool. You have to click on start button>programs>accessories> snipping tool in Vista

if you click on each item, can you resize it to make it work?

I don't see anything there in the way of tools to select & resize by clicking & dragging just one object on the canvas.
