SCAL5 on Mac 10.15 will not cut on Cameo 4

Hello! I am attempting to switch a Cricut Explore to a Cameo 4, specifically because I was looking for a UI that was fast and responsive, and SCAL5 looked like it would be great! I tried out the demo before I bought a Cameo 4 and it seemed fine. I just brought home a Cameo 4 and made some test cuts in Silhouette Studio 4 and it worked fine, and then I tried to do the same in SCAL5 but it fails to communicate with the printer. I have the printer connected via USB, and when I add it in SCAL5 as a cutter and attempt a Test Connection, SCAL5 crashes. If I instead try to send a cut to the printer, SCAL says it sent the instructions to the printer, but the printer does nothing. I've also tried with Bluetooth and get the same results. In the Cut Settings dialog, under PORT, I do not see the printer listed, no matter if I select USB or Bluetooth. However, I am able to print in Silhouette Studio. I know the version of SCAL is just a demo, but it should still be able to print, correct? Is my setup supported? Is there something else I need to do to get this to work?

I assume when you are typing "printer", you are actually referring to your cutter?

Yes, sorry for not being more precise with my language. Whenever I wrote print/printer, I meant cut/cutter.

The only thing I recall reading about this is that you need Silh Studio to be closed before you try from SCAL. I recommend actually rebooting your Mac and then only opening SCAL5 to test. If it still fails, then you can start a support ticket using this link:

Also, if you're on Facebook then try one of the many SCAL FB groups. I know there are SCAL5 owners who cut to the Cameo 4.
