Re: Stencil Material

Oooh finally a post I might be able to help with :D I'm doing a stencil right now for my baby daughter's wall - http://i.imgur.com/NrjYt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/1tyrC.jpg The first image is the outline of the stencil, the second is how it should look after it's painted. Her walls are a silvery taupe ...

Re: Help with scalloped shapes

I also did some Google-ing, and have found that it's just the Cricut Expression. Apparently it's trash at cutting circles and scalloped shapes :( Guess it's time for a new cutter! Wondering if there are any Black Cat Cougar users on here? I'm interested but there doesn't seem to be anywhere near me ...

Re: Help with scalloped shapes

Thank you for your suggestion... I tried it just now and it was set to Illustrator. I tried changing some of the other settings in Preferences and so far, no change.

Help with scalloped shapes

Hi there! Hoping someone here can help me out! I'm on SCAL version 2.044, cutting with a Cricut Expression with the correct firmware to run this program. I'm designing in Illustrator. I create my needed shape, save as SVG and import into SCAL. Specifically, I 'm cutting out a scalloped edge, 3"...

Re: Breaking an SVG into different layers

I'm definitely doing something wrong - but I completely admit I need to do more tutes on SCAL and Inkscape - I'm so used to working w/Illustrator that it's hard for me to make the jump to other programs that work differently. ;) On a completely different note, Heather, thank you SOOOOO much for the ...

Re: Breaking an SVG into different layers

Hi Heather, thank you for your response! Unfortunately, still not having any luck! The original file was an .eps (I didn't create it) - so I opened it in Adobe Illustrator (which is what I normally work in) and saved it as SVG- just so I could get it open in Inkscape. Then I opened it in Inkscape, a...

Breaking an SVG into different layers

Hi there, hoping someone here can help! I just watched a tute on creating layers in SCAL, but it was based on importing a few different SVG's into one document. I want to take one SVG, and put the paths on two different layers - it's a box, and I want to make one layer the cutting layer, one layer t...

Re: Halloween & Rosette file & newer turkey cards

Is it possible that someone who has already downloaded the files can share them here? I looked on Cri-Kits but didn't see anything.

Thank you!

Re: Silhouettes of Letters

I think you just want an outline, with the solid black part part of your font missing? If this is the case, you can do this with pretty much all the fonts installed on your computer. If you're using Inkscape, with your text highlighted, go to Object>fill and stroke - and in the menu at the right, se...
