Re: Vinyl cutting advise needed for setting, blade, housing, etc
Thanks for the replies and the advice....The fonts actually don't come out too bad and what I really need to do is keep track of the housings I'm using (I have both the standard that came with the machine and the deep cutting one)..I think I'll try cutting some more with different settings and see w...
Re: Upgrade
I don't represent the company in any way..just a user but when I went to the Buy Now area it has a price of $35.00 to upgrade, for download only and $50.00 if you want the CD-ROM but you have to verify your version by clicking on the link they provide. I haven't seen anything for $19.95 on their sit...

Re: I heard that MTC is being sued
The only point that scares me on this lawsuit that applies to our favorite software is the following: 17. Provo Craft recently learned about the existence of a new company that calls itself Make the Cut LLC, and its apparent owner, Andrew Heinlein (the Defendants). 18. Defendants are marketing a per...

Vinyl cutting advise needed for setting, blade, housing, etc
I did a search and read the threads about vinyl cutting, blades and housings, yeah lots of reading. Here's my dilemma and confusion. I first bought the deep cutting blade, because I thought it would be better for cutting vinyl, I read at the Cricut site somewhere that vinyl dulls the regular blades ...

Re: Sure Cuts A Lot 2.011 Update Released
Is there going to be some type of instruction manual for this update? There are some really neat features that could/should be documented on how to use..I just finished the text on path, special thanks to blondemommy who posted the really easy follow through on page 4 of this thread..I also played w...

Re: curved text / text on path in inkscape
This was a really cool instruction and I ended up using it for a circular shape which was great but when I went to import it to SCAL the letters were all messed up and it gave an error of "The SVG file contains embedded images and/or fonts and will not be displayed. All images and fonts in a SV...

Importing JPG or other format and having the Box around it.
Hi all!! I am a real newbie when it comes to art stuff but and really enjoying the experience of vinyl cutting with my Cricut using SCAL. The question I have is when importing a JPG,PNG,BMP, etc file into SCAL, I've been using the feature where you adjust the brightness and get the outlined picture ...

Re: Step By Step Instructions to get cricut set up
I'm new to this but I bought a Cricut Create to do my vinyl decals and needed to update my firmware for SCAL to work. What I did (which was recommended by Craft Edge) was download from Provo Craft their trial software for the Cricut. Install is and open it up. There is an option to update the firmwa...
