Re: 3 Feature Requests
1) I would like it if SCAL had a better "memory" for the settings for a given project. For instance if you change the p&c settings, they are universal rather than project specific. 2) I've noticed that if you have "cut selection only" active for a given project, if you open a...

Huge Bug In Latest Version of SCAL5 Pro 5.082
Hoping someone else can try this and see if they get the same result. I updated to 5.082 a couple of days ago and today was importing some png images for a print and cut. However whenever I select an imported image and select (Print & Cut) Print Only from the Cut Line Type (Style menu), what hap...

Aligning two objects: why do they BOTH move?
When you want to align two objects, in most design packages I've used one of the objects remains stationary and the other moves to that object, i.e. I have an imported png image and a cutline. I want to centre the cutline on the png image. In most packages the png image would remain stationary and I...

Printing .png images - getting lines around image bounding box
I've been using SCAL5 Pro in conjunction with my Skycut vinyl cutter to make stickers. In general I design the stickers in Inkscape and then export as .png (at 600dpi) and then import these into SCAL for Printing & Cutting. However I have an issue that when I print (to my Canon Pixma Pro 100s) s...

Printer colour management in SCAL
I've been using SCAL5 Pro and my Skycut cutter to create custom vinyl stickers via Print and Cut. However, I have noticed that when I print that some of the colours are waaay off what I'm seeing on the screen. I know colour management is a big issue in graphic design and I have a really good Dell mo...

Re: Imported images in SCAL - resolution?
Okay so I've noticed an odd issue, maybe a bug. The image degradation I'm getting seems to be "triggered" by placing a vector shape around an imported image. I've done this to provide some overbleed around a small sticker I was printing out. The sticker is green, so I placed a rectangle ar...

Imported images in SCAL - resolution?
I tend to draw / design my images in Inkscape then export as .png (either 600dpi or 1000dpi if small images) and then import into SCAL and then print. However I've noticed that the print quality from SCAL5 (I've got both the Pro and Standard versions) is different on occasions. Sometimes the images ...

Offsetting (creating new) cut line from existing one
Does anyone know how to create a new cut line from an existing one and have it appear at a precise offset in a given direction? I have a horizontal line and need to offset it several times exactly 6.2mm beneath itself to create a row of lines all 6.2mm apart from each other.
Thanks in advance!

Create cut lines when mass importing png images
Hi All, I figured out a quick way to import png images on-mass is to open the folder in Explorer, select them all and just drag / drop them onto the workspace in SCAL. However when I do this it doesn't automatically create the cut outline like it does when you go through the Import menu and select t...
