I was wrong. I just saved a file created with a dingbat. I closed the the dingbat font, then closed scal. I restarted scal and opened the test file, and lo and behold the file appeared but as regular lettering and not as the dingbats. bummer. I think I read somewhere, however, that if you create it ...
