SCAL and Inkscape - A marriage made in heaven

Post by AnointedHands »

Welding is possible when using Inkscape....thanks SJ5. I didn't even know about the program. I had an older version of CorelDraw and was trying to do some things with that and decided that I am going to have to upgrade. Once I found out about Inkscape, downloaded it and love it.

I have attached a file created with Inkscape and SCAL.

This was created in Inkscape which is the same type of program as CorelDraw, only freeware. I have version 8 and I could not figure out how to save as .svg using Corel. Inkscape is an excellent program. If you can use CorelDraw, you can use this program.

I have used CorelDraw for years, so it isn't for me. If you are not familiar with vector-based artwork, it has a STEEP learning curve. However, once you get the hang of it, it is a breeze.

Here is a post with instruction on how to weld the words together. I welded my words inside another character so it was a bit more complicated cuz I had to so some manipulating...that the steep learning curve part.

Check this post out.

when you download the file for the program, I think it gives you the option to "run" or "save". Just choose run and the program will install.
