I have a shortcut to use to open SCAL from my desktop and I can right click on the icon and choose properties then open tthe campatibility screen then choose XP instead of Vista. But huray it wont be long til I get the Windows 7 and do away with Vista.

If you bought a Toshiba laptop between June 26 2009 --- Jan. 10 2010 .. you can upgrade to Win7 for free.. Just go to the Toshiba site... My daughter in law had told me about this...

I wonder if Gateway is doing the same thing?

Todd,
you should check with the retailer who sold you the laptop/computer. Mine had vista and a free upgrade to windows 7. if you still have the papers that came with the laptop/desktop you may find the free update there.

happy new year

I have VISTA on a desktop and have never had a problem with SCAL or DS. Is it possible that there is another program on her computer that is causing the problem? Maybe if you turn off your anti virus/ firewall while you are running it there won't be an issue. Just a guess, don't know why some of us have so much trouble and some of us have none. Logically it isn't SCAL.
