Need help converting a logo to svg

I have a simple black and white logo which I converted to svg format using inkscape, when I open it in inkscape it looks great, however, when I import into SCAL it looks really bizzare. I admit that I am new to all of this and just learning but I would sure appreciate if someone could possibly tell me what I am doing wrong. Are there services that will convert files to SVG for a fee? Thanks for any help you can offer. I have attached the svg file.

When opened in Inkscape all that is there is a big red x and when imported into SCAL 1. the box is empty.

I am obviously doing something wrong, but when I use Inkscape version 0.47 I do see the image. I saved it as a svg file. I guess I don't know what I am doing!

This program does seem very complex, but I wonder why I can see the image and you don't.
Perhaps someone could lead me to a site that will do the conversions for me. I do want to learn to do my own svg but this project I am really anxious to get completed. I have attached the original logo to this message.

Most likely it's because I'm using .46 Inkscape. This maybe another attribute that .47 has that .46 doesn't. Good to know. Heather has .47 might pm her.

Your image isn't showing in Inkscape 0.47 either... All I see is a red X with image not available.. The reason being is you deleted the svg copy and kept the unconverted copy there....

This one is done in inkscape0.47.. I hope this is what you want.. Just import to SCAL as it does work there as well.

Thank you, I am not sure what you did differently than I did

I can see now from the conversion that I do need to do some touch of of some of the letters. Guess I will go back to the original designer and see if I can get it in SVG. Thanks to all of you who have tried to help.
