Hello. New to both this forum and to SCAL. Not sure how to ask this....
Is it possible to create a journaling item with not just the journaling frame design, but also with the text I want it to say inside with SCAL?

Are you talking about writing inside it??? with SCAL .. If you are .. Yes it's possible.. I do it all the time using gel pens.. You can get a little adapter online to hold the pens in where your cutting housing would go.. or what some people use is the grips for pencils around the pens... If you google it you'll find it. I'm pretty sure there is somewhere on the forums someone speaks of it as well.

Hi - thought I would give you another option out of SCAL.
1. You can cut your shape in SCAL.
2. Measure your area to work with and create your wording in Word or Illustrator and print it out on an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper.
3. Then tape the cut out on the printout and print again on the cut out.
Hope that makes sense.

I kept up with you until step 3. Print what again on the cut out?

Sometimes I think it is best to visually show something. Please visit my blog for a quick tutorial on how to do this. I posted pictures and step by step instructions.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Just when i think I am such a genius at designing, I am humbled by the gorgous things people make on a whim.
Your gingerbread box is just beautiful. I've downloaded the file and hope to get around to making one.

Wow, Amy! I've never had anyone make a tutorial especially for me before! Yes, the visual demonstration now makes perfect sense. I think the biggest problem I personally will run into is having a program that would transfer the shape of the diecut so I would be able to fit my text into it. What program did you use in this tutorial? Thanks so much!

Hi Vyriefan - I used Illustrator to layout the text in but I am sure it would work with other programs.
I am on a Mac so I am not sure which PC programs would work. If you measure your area then you really don't need to import the shape in there.
No problem on me doing the tuturial. I am a visual person and sometimes that helps me understand better.
Thanks for your nice notes SandyJ & Momof6!
