First of all I want to thank everyone for being so helpful and sharing their knowledge so freely. I made a request for help making an svg and Heather responded quickly and had me on my way in no time! Thank you Heather.

I just purchased SCAL2 and i have scal 1 on my laptop. I can't seem to open the scal 2 svg on my scal 1 is this right?

You are welcome. SCAL2 scut files can only be used in SCAL2. SVG files should work in either (usually).

There are some version specific requirements that can cause problems with svg files, but they are very simple to fix.
SCAL1 will read files with unconverted shapes correctly, but won't work right if Object/Group has been used. SCAL2 is the exact opposite (at least with 2.005). HTH
