Dear all,
I just checked Paintshop Pro and I am able to save these files as .svg files.
Do I still need Inkscape, or is Paintshop Pro enough?
Kind regards,
Ellen

you can have both paint shop pro and inkscape. Inscape will allow you to trace a bmp for cutting. I am not sure if psp does. but I am a great fan of psp.

I have PSP 9. I just did a quick search for trace and another for tracing. Results pointed me toward embossing. It's possible Embossing might do the same as tracing, but I don't think it's as easy to do as tracing in Inkscape. I don't really use PSP other than to lighten / darken / sharpen photos, so I don't know how it works.

Ellen,
What version of PSP are you using?
I ask because I have v7 and v8 and neither offer .svg file format.

Well, reading is nice but manipulating and saving is what I would look for.

Ah! I am thinking now..........
You can import it, 'see it'
Therefore you can 'save as' a .jpeg or .bmp
Then, you can manipulate the file (change the design, etc.)
Bring it back into Inkscape, save as .svg.
Hmmm.....
