Chipboard cutting....

Hi, I recently bought SCAL and I LOVE it so far! I was getting a little frustrated yesterday when I was trying to cut a maple leaf out of some chipboard. I am using the deep housing blade and I have had several successful cuts with this particular blade and the same chipboard thickness (I bought a whole stack at one time!) So I do not know what else the problem could be. It's like the blade gets stuck and then when it does, the rest of the cut is completely screwed up....
I've changed the speed - from fast to slow and I get the same result.
Anyone have anything else that maybe I am missing? I really need to get this maple leaf to cut for a page layout class I am teaching soon (I need at least 20 cuts).
Thanks!
