I am not running vista so don't know. for XP, i just keep them in a folder in my documets, and then when I want to use one, I go to the folder, and double click on the font so it comes up. Then it works in my other programs as long as it is open.

I need to change an OTF to a TTF font. How do I do this?

I have used OTF in both SCAL and Inkscape with no problems. Have you tried installing the font and using it?

I tried to put it into my Font Thing and it won't accept it. I guess I'll try to install it and see what happens. someone told me on one of my grps. you could convert it.

Try renaming the .OTF file to a .TTF file. Right click on the file to rename it.

Yeah, the font thing isn't created for anything by TTFs, that doesn't mean other programs won't use or recognize it, though.

I really rely on The Font Thing...even with SCAL2 because the font list is WAY TOO SMALL to see in SCAL, and I had eye surgery last year and GREAT vision. The font size is even smaller than the last, and I complained about it then. You can't even enlarge the font selection screen to see anything other than like A-D character, when using dingbats, a real pain. I think that is something that should be fixed as the program relies so heavily on font usage. (Yup, I'll repost in the correct thread for suggestions!)
