Craft Edge

Hello Friends!!!
I am so in love with this program. I have been wanting to try this for a while, so today i updated my firmware, and downloaded the trial version. I can get everything to work until I press cut, and it says opening connection, but doesn't do anything. I have the Criciut and the computer connected with a usb cord, the cricut is on and loaded with paper. Does the Mac program need a driver?
I am running on an Apple Powerbook G4. What did I do wrong. I really, really want this to work. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you got a cartridge in the cricut?You have to insert a cartridge(any will do)in the cricut before you switch on ,it won't cut without one.Hope this helps.

I did that too. Any other suggestions????? Anyone?
