Hi, lots of upgrades since then. Firstly scal1 and scal2 are obsolete as they only work on cricut machines and that ended a couple of years ago. since you already have scal1 you can upgrade to scal2 by visiting craftedge.com/download.html I think it is free, but you might have to upgrade your cricut as well but all the information is there. If you have problems contact support@craftedge.com or fill out the support form you see on the craftedge site. I hope this helps but craftedge will get you through it.

If the expression is old you might have to upgrade the firmware, it is a download but all the how to is yen the instructions when you upgrade to scal2. You will need your email address and the serial # of your version of scal1.

You can update the software in your expression by going here so you can use scal 2 I think.

Just a note. The upgrade from SCAL1 to SCAL2 was not a free upgrade. It was from from SCAL 2 to SCAL3, and then a paid upgrade from SCAL3 to SCAL4.

Are you going to use the cricut expression? Scale 4 does not work with the ccexpression. There areally a couple of new elect r onic cutters you may want to look at if you're planing on upgrading to a new machine
