sizing and rotating for cutting.

Newbie here. I've gone through the tutorials, and those are pretty good. However, they don't cover something that I'm encountering.
I'm making a 45" X 6' banner. I have a 28" cutter. I set the mat size to mimic the size of the banner.
So going to cut, some of the lettering and objects have to be cut horizontal, and some vertical.
How do I make the software cut the object horizontal vs vertical across the cutting plane of the machine?

How do I make it so that the object prints length ways, vs width? I've attached a couple of pics to TRY and make sense of what I'm saying.

As you can see, this one piece is much longer than the width of my cutter...

You did try and use rotate it on the mat object you want vertical instead or horizontal right? Or do you mean you want to enter the text in vertical?

Yes. It seems like no matter how I place it on the mat, it still tries to align it to cut wrong. If I flop the mat orientation, it also does the same thing.

I got it figured out. I kept flipping the mat. I started playing with flipping the objects themselves, and made it work. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Now if I could get the broken weed functionality to work.....
