HMMMM, most likely you can't, you will have to do print2cut. Add a shadow layer, designate the pattern words to print to cut print, then put the paper on the mat and cut the shadow around is the short version. I'll play with it a bit and see if I can come up with something else…..unless you figure it out first of course :D

A better idea is to print your pattern paper first
Place it physically on the mat
cut out the letters from the paper

Funny how you figure it out as you go, especially if you have someone to talk to.

Here, in a nutshell, is how I'd do it for a transfer for t-shirt.

For cutting do you want the outline of the letters to cut or cut the whole thing into pieces - like paper piercing >

If you want it all to cut then you will need to ensure all the lines are paths - not images !

I'll leave the rest to you and Pandora!

Do let us know/see the final project OK?

Thanks for all your help, Susan!

Pandora--I don't care either way on the outline. At this point I just want it to work! Lol

so have a look at the attached file - it is an svg - I have taken your letters and because I wasn't sure what you wanted there are four bits on the page

You will probably need to delete the light blue image - since most cutters don't like images on a page.

the black is just one path to cut or not with - the other two I cut in half in case that is what you wanted to do....

Whatever you are putting on the t-shirt you will need to reverse (flip horizontal) to make sure it reads correctly

this will cut exactly as you see the lines - I have taken off the fill and just left a stroke in place - suggest you cut it from copy paper first and see if you like how it is - you can always edit the nodes to remove some of the smaller pieces and weeding it will be fun - or not depending on how you like it - that is also where having it cut from paper helps me since I can see which parts I want to leave in

Do post a picture when you get it done - I have been working flat out for a while and not had time to play lately

good luck
