SCAL 3 (v. 3.053) Settings (saving settings as default)

I'm using SCAL3 v. 3.053 and cannot find a way to save the settings for TRACE to be the new defaults for this function. How can this be accomplished?
I've contacted support but have received no response.
Additionally, other versions of SCAL3 have allowed default folders to be identified for project files etc. This does not seem to be offered in v. 3.053 -am I missing the where and how to set these?
