Hello.

I bought an american eclips from ebay and I'm using it with a english cable into the universal power adapter.
The machine powers on (and makes a whirling noise which I don't know if this is normal). I press the load button, it lights but does not load. I've tried usuing the controller but the buttons are unresponsive.
Am I doing something wrong or are american machines not compatable in the UK. I was guessing by the name "universal power adapter", they would be.

Cheers.

Interesting question! You might try contacting the Sizzix company directly for an answer or at least they might be able to point you to someone locally, they have great support.

good luck.

Since you bought on eBay. Did you buy a new machine from a dealer or a used one privately. There were some early machines that had some issues and Sizzix has been honoring repairing and replacing those machines. They may ask you to take a short video of what the machine is doing.

Hello.
Thanks for your replies.

I sorted the problem.

The lazer/cutting "thing" was in the middle (not to the left).
I managed to reset it by attached the computer USB into the controller. I think I shocked it into resetting itself.

After a couple of days tearing my hair out trying to get it to cut properly. Think I'm (sort of) getting the hang of it and it's working the way it should.

I haven't tried any presets yet. lol. Been making my own SVG's and loving it.

Will be posting a few seperate questions if you want to help me more.

Cheers folks.

PS.

Any UK customer using a USA sizzix machine. Yes, it does work.
You just need to buy an english power lead to fit into the universal adapter (you will likley have one in your cupboard. I used my mum's printer lead. No probs)
