Looking for altered pillowbox

Hello.
I am trying to find an svg that will allow me to achieve this:
http://stampwithheather.typepad.com/sta ... inner.html
It is essentially a pillow box with the top and bottom of one side cut out. I am trying to achieve this in inkscape, but I do not have much experience. Can someone help me?
Thank you!

What am I doing wrong? I opened an svg in Inkscape and exported it as a bitmap. Opened it in Photoshop and erased the parts I did not want and changed it to how I wanted it - made it look like this:

I then opened the png in Inkscape and saved it as an svg. When opened in SCAL, it is just blank. I am so close - what am I doing wrong?

You need to trace the image after importing it into Inkscape. From the menu use Path/Trace bitmap. If you have a black and white image (no gray) then the default settings should be fine. Click OK in the Trace dialog box. HTH

Forgot to mention this. I try to trace it, but it does a bad job - some double lines, some spottiness so when imported in SCAL, way too many cut lines/spots.

Stephen -
I had pretty good luck tracing it in eCal -- see the attached file for my settings, and the other attached files for saved files that you can hopefully open. Then, I moved the bigger outlines out, and deleted all the dashed line nodes and the "inner" cut line (lumpier). If you want to score the dashed lines (I don't know what cutter you have) then you can draw them in and set them as score lines. It could use some more cleanup, especially in the upper right corner, but this is a better start for you, hopefully?
Hope this helps!
Callie

Callie - I cut it as is and it is great, but just wondering if you would be able to add the score lines in for me? Tried folding it and it is difficult without the cuts for the folding. Is that possible?

I don't have time at the moment to do this for you, but can describe how I would do it, quickly:
1. For the vertical lines I would draw a rectangle (from the Shapes library) over the dashed lines that you can see.
2. With the Shape Tool (second one down in the toolbox), select the upper left and upper right nodes on the box. Then do a Path > Split Path.
3. Do the same for the bottom two nodes.
4. Select and delete the top and bottom lines on the box.
5. Select the box (with the invisible top and bottom edges) and then Cut Line Type: Score (in the Appearance Pane).
6. For the curved lines I'd draw a half-circle from the shape library and do the same, flipping it for one side. It won't line up exactly but you can move the node/line with the Shape Tool.
ScrappyDew has a lot of good tutorials for SCAL/eCAL that helped me tremendously!
