Feature for Wishlist

Hi
I am a new user of SCAL, was just using it to import .svg files and go thru .scut files--frequently on these boards there are not previews of what the download looks like so I end up just downloading a whole bunch of them and going through them later to decide whether or not they are something I want to keep. The majority of these are .svg files, so they have to be imported. I've discovered that while there is a quick & easy "desktop" icon to open a new project or to open a project (a piece of paper icon & a file folder icon) which makes things a lot easier when you have to go thru a long list of files, there is no such icon for importing .svg files, and so every time I have to go in under "file" and click on import svg. Would be a lot quicker & easier if after the paper & file folder icon there was something there to click on for "import svg" as well.

Sincerely,
Carrie

If you download Inkscape, you can double click on SVG files and they will open in Inkscape. Many files I uploaded are SVG files as I found them on the Free Clipart website. Many of them do have pictures on the forum. Many of them are not in the cut version because they may need some tweaking - mostly separating layers. That said, at the moment, you cannot double click on SCUT files to see them in SCAL. HTH

Thank you for that simple tip. I am trying to absorb all of the little tricks that everyone comes up with to try and make the learning curve a much shorter one.

I had to go into my settings and change the default program that the svg file would open with, when I did the double click it tried to open in SCAL and that didn't work :( but it was an easy step to make things much easier in the end. Thank you so much for all your help on this board!!!
hope this reads like I mean it too, sometimes typing something I am thinking just doesn't sound the same and now I am rambling on a message board
