Craft Edge

I've been playing around with the Edges fonts from Susan Blue Robot. I got the edges to connect to the card but for the life of me I can't get the edges of the card to weld together in Inkscape. I've tried every button under Path and even a combination of buttons. Can you tell me what to do?

Hi Lindamac, you have Groups in your file and you can't use Union on a Group. Both of your card pieces are grouped (more than once each). Ungroup them (either right click or use the Object menu) and then you can use Path/Union. Watch your message bar at the bottom of the Inkscape window to see what type of things are selected (Path, Group, Shape). HTH

Thank you Heather, it worked!!!! Inkscape was so big on my screen I couldn't see the bottom part where it said there were groups. I've made the screen smaller so I can see everything. Altho I've been using Inkscape for years, there is more that I don't know than I do know!
