Craft Edge

Well summer has been quite the busy one for me.. It's been hot here as I realize it was with most places.. We suffered a massive forest fire close to our area.. about 27 miles away.. and another big one 1 mile away from where I live.. Thank goodness they were able to get extra help in from other provinces and states to help deal with the situation.. we were basically cornered in where we live from even leaving the area.. We still haven't had enough rain to finalize the situation... and they figure there will be hot spots for at least 2 more months.. Currently in Ontario where I live there are over 900 plus fires burning.. small to large.. GADS I can't wait for summer to be over and winter to be here..lol

Anyhow I"ve also been busy sewing little dresses for my granddaughters.. and making headbands to match.. I'm hooked back onto making what you call pillowcase dresses.. they sew up very quick.. I've made 4 of them thus far and also made my oldest granddaughter a sundress which is halter style.. Here is one of the dresses I made my middle granddaughter.. I've also been busy with making cards as well..So if you've been wondering where I've been at?? that's my story and I'm sticking to it..LOL

Hi papasue.. Yes I will. I just purchased the Silhouette Cameo which is due to come in next week.. I'm moving up in the world.. ROFLMAO..
I will also be leaving my job at the end of this year.. Time for me time..hahahah... I've was going to complete my term in June but decided to stick it out until the end of December ..
I'm glad someone missed me.. LOL

We ALL miss YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH, I can't WAIT till you are BACK on board with us!!! You must share all that you are and will be making and how it goes with your machine...BIG congrats on your new toy :)

Your gd is just such a sweetie...another 'sweetness' in the family, there :) The dress is very nice...my most comfortable house dress is just like it, only different material and nothing so cute as the image you put on the front.

I am sorry your area has suffered with the fires...it just makes it miserable to go outside when they are so close, if the wind is not giving you a break and taking the smoke the other way.

I am very glad to have you back and your GD and her dress are adorable. Post once in a while so we know you are OK.

LOL thanks Gj1.. It's the heat that won't give us a break here.. This hasn't stopped since March which is highly unusual..
I will be back I promise.. I belong to a facebook page called Creative Kuts and each week they give us a free file to design off of.. I love it.. so a lot of my basics are from there but I always add to it.. You should check out their blog and if you are on facebook even their page.. WE have a blast there... You can get the files even if you don't have a machine because they put their files in a png format as well..
I sooo can't wait for my machine to get here.. I still have my cricut and will keep it as well because I have a lot of cartridges I like to use.. My 4 year old granddaughter loves doing crafts when she's here now so that's another reason.... She's really taken an interest in drawing and crafting.. My next step is sewing with her...Might have to be careful with that because if she gets good enough her mommy may have her making her wardrobe.. LOL..
Gj1.. that is little Ashlynne my middle granddaughter.. . She's got the biggest bluest eyes a person can ask for.. Just check them out. .Another lady I know enhanced the colors a bit for me but these are all hers..

Hi Joanne - Glad you are back. Just yesterday I was wondering when you were going to poke your head back in. Wow, sorry to hear about the fires. Hope you get some rain. We could sure use some rain in our neck of the woods too. Your granddaughter is so cute!!! That dress and headband are really cute too. I was just telling my niece to make her daughter some pillowcase dresses. They are so easy to whip up. I gave her a sewing machine for Christmas and she still hasn't cracked it open.

I think I'll go check out that Facebook page. Thanks for the suggestion.

She should crack that box open.. these dresses are so easy to do.. Here is another I did and all the images I cut out on my cricut then fused and embroirdered them to the dress.. Perhaps if you show her these pictures she'll be inspired to make them..LOL..

Good to see you back Joanne....out of sight, but not out of mind. The dresses and the grandchildren are adorable. You did good. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts.
