Alexandra, first what version of eCAL do you have? You need 1.003 anyway.
Have you removed the blade carrier from the machine and checked for bits and pieces of paper, even taking out the blade and blowing out anything you see.
See this post and see if anything sound familiar, maybe it will get you going. There is something about a "sensor" in a post by Sandy.

I don't see a download for ECAL 1.003. The highest I see is v 1.002. Where do I find a newer copy?

If you download it it will be 1.003 even tho it is listed as 1.002.

Morning Papasue,
I've done the actualization but the problem still resist.
It happens with the ecal and the cartridges...
It only cuts a bit of the final project...
I'm desperate...

You should contact the appropriate Support for your machine, at this point.

Let me see if I understand...
1. Is the mat feeding properly?
2. Does the blade holder move at all?
3. Have you "ever" used he machine where it worked properly?
4. Did you check to make sure there is not paper stuck anywhere near the blade holder or underneath the rollers or the roller bar?
5. What type of blade holder do you have? Do you have the type that has numbers on it to set the blade depth (1,2,3, etc.) If it is the other type, some have had to request the one where the numbers click into place as there were some problems with the other one.

I had the same problem, call sizzix customer support and tell them what its doing, they had me send a video and had me send my machine back to them, even though thats not where I purchased it, and they sent me a knew one, this is starting to be a common complaint with this machine, but sizzix says they test out all the machines they sell personally to make sure they dont have problems, I used mine for three months and then it started acting up, but I havent had problems with the replacement yet.
