My first Vinyl Cut!

What settings do I use to cut Vinyl? The vinyl with backing is 18mm. The vinyl is 5mm. What number do I set the cutter and what speed and pressure do I set the machine? I am cutting from SCAL. I have an Expression.
Thanks for your help. I am offline now until morning, so TIA.

Was wondering the same thing.... about to use the Cricut vinyl but it's not exactly the right color. Looking for a navy blue instead of the medium blue they sell. Where do I get this.... Lowe's/Depot? And do you just do a multi-cut on it? Info would be of great help!

I use the Wall Pops and don't know what mm they might be but I cut at 3 speed, 3 pressure and 4 blade. When it cuts it does not cut through the backing. I take it off the mat and can use transfer tape to hold it in place when I peel off the backing. Try a small cut and see how it works for you. Also, someone on the Cricut MB had posted what she uses so you could check there.

Thank you for this info. I'm off to try it even though today HAS NOT been a good cricut/scal day for me.

My first vinyl cut was a success.
I used a Pressure of 2, Speed of 2 and the Cutter set at 2. I cut out 2 sets of Purple Flames in Vinyl for my Brother's Bright Yellow Golf Cart. We used the clear contact paper method of transferring the vinyl and it worked great.
