Rinestone etc.

Hi there,
I own the ecal software and love it. I love my eclips machine. It is awsome. But I miss some of the features other software's offer. Like Distribute object to path, Lattice, Easy Swirls Creation , Rhinestones etc that I had in my Fairy Cut or Funtime software. Will those be coming with the ecal as well?
Thanks.

We do have rhinestones. I don't have ecal...but Scal3 is the same I think...and it is under Object Rhinestones.
I don't know how the lattice feature you speak of works...but it is so easy with basic shapes, copy paste, give it a flip and union and bingo you would have lattice.
Easy swirls...scal has some of the most beautiful swirls in the Shape Library. I use them all the time to copy paste, flip, union, and create all kinds of new swirls.
However, if there is something extremely special about the other features you mention then maybe this request should be put in the Wishlist section, too.
I am so glad you love your new machine....everyone seems to. I don't have one, yet.
What is distribute object to path?

Hi, Lattice and rhinstone features are in the Object menu at the top.
Rhinestone.
Select a shape from the shapes table.
While it is selected go to Object/rhinstone. You will get a menu that allows you to chose not only stone size but many other options.
Lattice
using the shapes table select a rectangle (any size will do), or any other shape that would look good done in lattice.
Object/lattice you will get a menu that allows you to select the lattice configuration. It is awesome.
Swirls
You can also draw swirls with the pen tool or pick some from the shapes menu and combine them into a design.
I hope this gets you started with you ecal software. If you have more questions, just post and other ecal users will stop by and add their two cents worth.

G, ecal has several features that are not in SCAL3, mostly I'd guess because of the capability of the cutter itself. Where they are in the menus may be different tho. I do know that there is a slight difference in placement between the Mac and Win in eCAL Like "preferences" is in a different menu on a Mac than on Win.
On my Mac Rhinestone and Lattice are the last two on the object list.
Since I've never had a Win computer I no not about it and how it works.
Anyone else know?

Yes, the rhinestone and lattice features on ECAL for PC are also the last two in the Object dropdown list. They are so easy and awesome to use. And, on the rhinestone, you can choose the size of your rhinestone and the spacing or even fill with rhinestones. It's awesome.

I guess g, deleted her question, but maybe someone else will benefit from her asking is ecal had features different than SCAL3.
Back to Rhinestone and lattice. Here are some examples of what can be done, many more in the hands of a real designer I'll bet.

What is distribute object to path?
Hi,
here is what I know about "distribute obtect to path" This feature allows you to distribute shapes, text and phrases on any path. It includes a tool that duplicates the object on a path and allows you to set the size and spacing between every object by a simple click of your mouse.
Thank you for all your answers. You guys really helped. Thank you. It just still seems to be easier to do all these things with the other 2 softwares I mentioned earlier and they seem to have many more features as well. But maybe that is just because I am not that familiar with the ecal just yet.
And by the way I hope you will be able to get one of the eclips someday. It really is a great working machine and the customer service is great, if you ever need it.
I got my eclips on sale for $229 at OMC.
Thanks again for all your help.

Hi,
thank you all so much for your fast answers. You guys are great and I feel really stupid that I didn't see those features.
I am not all that familiar with the ecal software, yet.
Sorry about that.
Still it feels like the programs I mentioned earlier seem to have so many more features than the ecal. But maybe, again, that is just stupid me, not figuring it out.
Thanks again for all your answers.

Object path distribution is probably using images which are really fonts using SCAL text on path. I would love to beable to use all of the SCAL shapes like a font to add to circles or squares, or borders really easy, that would be fun, but I can still do it now.
No matter what is done to make things easy with the software...it can still be done.

Cleversomeday directs to this site of Denise who has some fonts to download that she made and an explanation of how to make your own.

Plus many many more linked from her page very worth looking at, and great dingbats too!

gj1, these are just great ideas. I love borders, and I never thought of using dingbats to create them. I have drawn so many and they take me forever! This would make it much, much easier and the possibilities are endless. Thanks so much.
