Well - lets just say that they have done it again over at Provo Craft The new mats are less than sticky - I've had to tape my paper to mine. Customer support has not changed over there either - no response.

I will go back to making my own using the re-positional adhesive.

Wow-- that's good to know. How can you tell if you're buying a new or old version of the mats? I wonder if it would be a good idea to stock up on a few if you knew you were buying the old ones...

You can even make your own cutting mats by purchasing cutting mats for vegetables.. they are flexible and just put adhesive on them.. No point making a company even richer..

Where do you get cutting mats for vegetables? I'd be interested if I knew of a source.

I've heard that the eclips mats work well in the Cricut and I'm pretty sure that there are others, just can't remember which ones. :?

I know that WalMart had the kitchen cutting mats in the kitchen section, and they can be used in a baby bug but they aren't big enough to make a 12x12 mat for the E. Actually, they are a good way to get a longer cut with the baby bugs. They do curl more than the Cricut mats though.

I use Aleene's Tack It Over and Over with equal parts water on my mats after cleaning them. Much prefer this over the spray adhesives since I don't like to spray adhesives in the house and I hate having to mask off the edges. I don't think I will be replacing them anytime soon. I haven't purchased ANY Provo Craft products in slightly over a year, and that's the way it is going to stay.

I will have to try Aleen's. I haven't bought a Cricut mat in over a year or any PC product either!...feels good too!
