I'm having a little contest on my blog. Here is the file that goes along with the "Make Marilyn Monroe Contest". I want everybody who is interested to start trying to cut out portraits. This way you will be prepared to design your own when I finish my month long tutorials in August. Here is the link: http://paperkutzstudio.wordpress.com/20 ... e-contest/

Give it a try. Have Fun.

I studied your tutorial last week and made a portrait of my son. I was able to get a very nice one in just 3 layers! I liked that.
I am going to go try and cut it now that you mention this. It is a real challenge and I like that too. Thanks.

You have kept me prettyyyyy busy here. This is what I came up with. My grey color papers are limited so I used some blues.

PS: I used a tip from Kaye at cleversomeday...I believe it was...and used mesh tape for drywall to transfer the tiny face pieces.
What is good about this tape is you can see through it.

gj1, awesome. I'm glad to see other people trying this at home. Follow my blog as the two big tutorials "photo editing" and "creating the cut file" are coming up in a couple weeks. This should really help you by following my steps.

If you have time, try the Marilyn. It is little more challenging to assemble than my last freebie file (Tom Cruise), but it will really help learn by doing.
