I would love to make a castle book for my little girl. Unfortunately, as smart as I am at other things, Inkscape, well, escapes me.
Would someone PRETTY PLEASE help me with a cut file for this?
Here is a link to what I am talking about:

Thank you so much! I really hope I can get some help with this!

For it to be a usable size, I think you will need a 12X24 mat if you want it in one piece.
4 pieces, which will allow you to use different paper, just add tabs to the edges and make sure you glue them to the back side of the castle so you won't see the tabs when you open the book.
Do you already have the castles?

No, I don't...I'm not even sure how to start. I have not been able to figure out inkscape or do much more than fonts with my SCAL.

I can't help you with a file, but wouldn't it be easier just to buy it for the $6?
if you bought it, you could keep the book as a pattern & make them over & over again.
just a thought.......

LOL You're right, I could just buy it online, but I thought it would come out nicer in a cut file so the paper I cover it with would be cut well, too. Does that make sense or am I just being silly?

It would be a lot of work to have someone make it for you. I think Jancy's right, it would probably be best to just buy it.

No problem at all.
It was fun trying to see if I could create it from the image that had been posted on the cricut message board a week or so ago. So I had already been working on it when you asked about it and knowing that there was a bit of work involved I thought I would finish what I had been working on and see if it was what you were wanting.
As I said this one was a bit more trickier than usual as I only had a small image to go on. I copied it into Paint and then had to try and clean up and create each castle level from that image before I could put it into Inkscape. Inkscape was simple, the hard part was creating the 4 castles in Paint as jpgs due to the image having all layers on top of each other and two of them on angles.
But it was fun and always satisfying when you can take a challenge (even if you set it for yourself) and achieve the challenge.
So I am just pleased that what I did can be of use to some of you.
