I am making a castle autograph book for my granddaughter. She is going to Disney World for her birthday. I have the castle cut out, but my problem is in making the pages themselves. They need to be about 4 inches high; the top needs to be 6 1/2 inches wide and the bottom of the page needs to be 7" wide. My question is can I make this in Inkscape or is there an easier way to do this. I have tried in SCAL2 using the trapezoid, but I cannot manipulaate it enough to get the dimensions I need. I know there is someone that can helkp me. You all very talented and when I grow up I hope to be just like all of you and your creativity. Thank you

I adjusted a trapezoid with the nodes tool in Scal 2.

Thank you so much. How did you do that with the nodes? I tried but I was getting 2 images on the screen. One was a rectangle with the arrows and the other was a solid colored trapezoid. When I adjusted the rectangle, it made the trapezoid bigger or smaller.

hmmm...that does not sound right.
I just put the trapezoid on the virtual mat and put a selection box around it and then went to the TOOL panel and selected the Nodes Tool, second one down, and then with the mouse.. put my selection arrow on the top nodes and left clicked to move them out a bit(click and hold down the left mouse button and pull it out just a bit). I set the height with the H in the Properties panel to 4.0 and I set the W in the Properties panel to 7.O, so I did not have to do anything with the bottom nodes. I put the center line arrows of the selection box around the trapezoid on lines so I could go out 3.25 on each side of the the center line for 6.50 inch top.
Hope this helps you...can not understand why you have the two images. Perhaps in Window, go to layers, and right click on the one layer you do not want and delete it.
