Freezing when clicked on cut w/ cricut button

I am new at this...I need to know what I am doing wrong. I put the image on the virtual mat and click cut with cricut. My cricut machine is on and has the correct firmware. I have also changed the properties to run compatibility with Windows 7, which is what I have. So can someone please help me. I am really discouraged.

Welcome...I run Win7, and Scal 2.041 and 2.043, but never changed any compatibily mode...not sure if that matters.

What version of Scal do you have?

Could it be possible that your security software is blocking...sometimes you have to list programs in the 'exceptions' location of your security software program.

This may be a really dumb question...but how do you change the 'exceptions' in my security software program.

Mine has a spot in the "firewall" for where my programs are listed that get through it...and a spot to add programs to allow through.
But, I could not begin to tell you how yours works. And it may or may not be this problem. Can you cut anything?

It's sometimes helpful to watch the videos on the installation process and make sure you haven't skipped any of the steps while installing the program.

What cutting machine specifically are you using?

Use the 'Search' above for your question, specific to your cutter and version of Scal and see what others say.

Try updating to the most recent version of SCAL2 (2.043 as of right now). I was able to cut with Win7/baby bug using this version with no problems. I do have my SCAL running in XP compatibility mode. Some people also find it works better if they run as Administrator. HTH
