Craft Edge

Hello! I am trying to convert a JPG image of Snoopy and Woodstock to a SVG so that I can cut it with my cricut. I am running into a problem where the yellow of Woodstock is not showing up in the SVG in order to cut out the yellow vinyl. I am using Inkscape. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I can cut out all of the white and black parts, but there is no yellow to cut out. Can anyone help me? The copy of the image I am trying to work with is attached.

I'm thinking it's because woodstock is only all open paths .. If you did a trace image and click on the nodes option you will note that all those colored hairs are all nodes.. you need to draw a solid outline for woodstocks face...
