help with a design

I am trying to make a scut of the attached photo.
I have tried to create using my fonts and a basic SCAL swirl. The problem either the swirl is not connecting with the lower edge of the letters the swirl covers too much of the letters.
I don't want the letters to follow the curve of the swirl but rather straight across as in the photo.
I would also like to blend the lower portion of the "g" as in the photo.

I have struggled with this for a great deal of time and now I am down to the wire with a customer. The final will need to be cut into two sizes so I will need to be able to enlarge.

If anyone is interested in tackling this please contact me. All I have is the attached photo from a client.
thank you in advance,

Hi, if you can post the scut file someone may be able to help. What font did you use for the base that you are trying to attach the swirl to?

Thanks for your reply.
I don't have a scut yet that is what I'm hoping to find some help with.

I have the word in the font style I would like to use, if that would help I can post let me know.

Yes that would help, I might even have the right font so when you post the word let us know what the font is.

http://craftedge.com/tutorials/tutorials.php

The tutorials above explain the virtual mat and its functions for selecting and stretching, and welding or union.
If you have the letters..the rest would not be impossible for you to complete to be 'similar' to what you show.
Don't give up...you can do it.

I'm sure Todd or Heather would be able to do a much better job but I have given it my best shot. Maybe this will help.
