I finally have decided to try to use Type on Path. I have a rainbow svg file & I wanted words in the different rainbows. So I figured ah finally I can try Type of Path. I ungrouped the svg file and have the one color of the rainbow and each and every time I go to type SCAL closes down on me. I have tried it at least 7 times.

Do you have the T selected for type on path?

It does work...took me a few tries also, but it did not shut down. Kept asking me to select a one lined ungrouped path or something and then I went to arrow and selected the rainbow and then clicked back on the slanted T and just started to type.

Yes, I am able to select Type on Path, I can select my style of font and also select the ungrouped svg image. It is when I go and actually start the typing that it keeps shutting down.

Try selecting the rainbow with the arrow, then click the slanted T, then click off away from the rainbow and begin to type.

Also adjust the size of the font smaller perhaps with the number box by the font selection.

As soon as I hit the first letter that I wanted to type it stopped working. When I select the rainbow it just the dashed lines and not arrows in the corners like you were going to move it. Correct?

That is correct about the dashed lines...that is what I see.

Sorry, I mean click inside the rainbow for the letters, not off away from it....just keep trying.

I have my font at .50 size.

Ok, well I chose another rainbow file and it worked without closing down!!! Maybe it just didn't like something with the first one.

Ok, so now.... It is typing at the very edges and not centered like yours.

Make the font smaller and make the whole page smaller maybe, and to center just use the arrow key on the computer to move the cursor back to the beginning and space space space till it is centered. I hope it will work for you.
