Please save me from going insane

I have been trying to make this little flag so that I can make a small banner for a scrapbook page, but I just can't get it right. Will somebody with more talent please help me? It should be so easy, but I've wasted about an hour trying and still don't have anything that I can use. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You are a lifesaver! Thank you so much for your help. I was still trying but I had decided that I would be ok with making it a simple rectangle instead. Now I can go back to my original plan. Thanks again!

Thanks toaster! I'm downloading your file as well to save for a different project since your file has a different look. Thank you to everyone who helped me out today. Ever have one of those days where nothing goes right and the simple things turn out to not be so simple? Yeah, that was me today. Can't wait for this day to be over. Anyways, finished my page and am happy to be done with it. Contemplating starting another layout or should I just call it quits for today?
