Help from any SVG expert! :-)

Post by alottens »

I bought SCAL a few months ago and have been playing with Inkscape to try and trace images and convert them to SVG files. Recently, a friend of mine approached me about a baby shower invite she wants to create. She sent me a link to a premade invite she likes, but, being a scrapbooker, she thinks it's too flat and would like to recreate it herself and jazz it up a bit. I tried using inkscape to trace the file, but am having trouble getting the file as detailed as I would like. If I sent you the file, would anyone try to help me out with the details? The image is of a pregnant silhouette, but she has eyelashes, a nose and lips and I cannot get the SVG file as detailed as I would like!

Please help me!!!

When I trace a bitmap, I change the value until I get what I want to trace. Using Update on the trace screen, you can get a good idea what the trace will look like

Learn how to manage the nodes. Changing, moving and deleting the nodes are helpful in getting the right shape and cleaning up funny looking lines.
