I brought the cricut personal without doing much research (black friday sales). Then I brought the 'tie the knot' cartridge and was horrified

to find out that personal does not have a portrait option, all the cool vertical invitations options are limited to a height 5 1/2 or under.
(Why didn't cricut default all the images that had long heights to be printed as portrait/the long way???)
sob.
now, before I jump into purchasing SCAL, can someone verify that I can rotate all things portrait (the long way) so I am not limited by the height? (I know I won't be able to use images from cartridge)
thank you so much!!
ps- I already learned that create would be what I would want...

My suggestion is do the free trial download and play with it. It then will let you know what all it will do

I have the Cricut personal and I just change the mat view and place my image long ways on it.
I cut cards all the time that are sized 5.5 X 8.25
Only concern would be if you are using a computer with Windows 7. Most of the Cricut personal machines will not cut when using SCAL2 on a Windows 7 computer. It locks up at the cutting stage. I have to use Vista or XP to get it to cut.
