Craft Edge

I have a jpg logo I want to cut out. Trying to ramp it up in size and then do the trace bit map is not getting me any good results. After the trace I end up with a bazzillion little squares instead of a curve like the tutorial shows from the cross.

Thoughts?

The bazillion little squares are probably nodes. In vector-based software (Inkscape), nodes and their lines is what you use to change shapes.
Moving the nodes or the lines will alter the shape.

Thanks for the tidbit. Is there a command I am missing to make all those noids either merge, cut the back e.g. join some. If I am happy with the curve, how do I make them disappear so I can see the actual shape itself and work from there?

I click outside the shape or anywhere there is white. If you use the first icon you will select the whole shape without the nodes.
