Are you doing the design in Inkscape? There are some known issues with sizing when importing from SVG. You have to get the dots per inch set the same in Inkscape and SCAL.
- Jasen.

SCAL can't cut 11.7" unless you are using a 24" mat. Any cut lines that go outside of the dotted cutting boundary on the virtual mat will be cut off at the boundary.
It might be possible to cut what you want with an open Path. Post the file and someone will take a look at it.

ok i have reduced the size. everything i want to cut is inside the dotted lines on the cutting mat but it still cuts off. the cut is about 0.5cm away from the edge off the start point so it runs right off the card at the other side. where on my cricut mate should i place my card

A lot of Cricuts cut off, even with cartridges. Mine is quite a bit off, I've just learned where I need to position the paper, and if placement is really important, I use the hinge method to help me get my paper where it needs to be. There has been a lot on this in several posts.

hey Heather or Todd.
where is the post about running the template thru your cricut to see exactly where the cut is off? do you remember what i am talking about. i'll also go look. that helped me see where to place stuff knowing that most cricuts have a little give in them. i know that doesn't make sense but when u see this - it will. be back if i find it.
