Lines Within a SVG File

Post by cbrown »

I'm trying to design an invitation. I want to put lines that I want cut along the fold line, but I don't want it to cut out completely. The lines are similar to pop up cut lines. I don't want it to be removable, I just want it to stand up when folded.

If I am understanding you correctly, you want to make disconnected lines that you can cut within your paper, without something dropping out.

Click on the draw tool, (one that looks like a pen). Click and release, then drag your line to the length desired and click once to end the line, then hit enter on your keyboard.

I think I understand what you want but I am not sure you can do it with the Cricut. I have only made two pop-up cards and I had to use 2 sheets of paper (one for the inside (pop-up) and one sheet for the outside.

I've created a file in Corel Draw and it looks the way I want. But when I bring the file into SCAL and click on preview, the disconnected line is connect to another line that I did not make to make a closed path. I want to keep that path open. I'll try a dotted line and see what happens.

You can do this in scal by just drawing the 2 lines in the box which will represent the card... just draw the two side lines but not the top and bottom... Here is an example.. so the two lines will cut there but there is nothing to cut at the top or bottom..

What I did was make a very, very thin box for the lines - I had the same thing happen so I connected it with a second line almost on top of the first (I hope that makes sense)

Thank you everyone that posted a reply. Within Corel I converted my unattached line to a an object and then combine the overall frame and unattached line. It works. And magically today the other file I make is now showing up correctly.

Here is what I was trying to accomplish.

Sorry I don't know how to put the file in the post.
