I am trying to download the drivers for connecting my Cricut Expession 2.31 to my computer. I just purchased SCAL yesterday.
I downloaded drom the craftedge site.
It wants to save it in Documents but should be in Device Manager in the Control Panel. So therefore isn't working.
I'm not sure how to do this.
Please help!!!
Thanks!!
Becky

The drivers are in a zipped file which needs to unzipped or extracted before you can install them.
Once you unzip the files, you need to install them, then they will show up in Device Manager.
Here's a video that Leo at svgcuts.com has on his blog to manually install the drivers:

I am still having problems with the download (watched Leo's you-tube video - is this for Windows Vista also??
The Extraction Wizard box does not come up, just goes right to Locate and Install Driver Software screen again.
I don't understand and am getting frustrated!!

Yes, the video using Vista. What do you have on your computer? Windows 7 zip files can be extracted by right clicking the zip file then Extract from the drop down box.

I can get the files extracted and that's it. These are the files in the extracted folder - amd64, 1386, ftd2xx.h, ftdibus (Security Catalog),
ftdibus (Setup Info), ftdiport (Security Catalog), ftdiport (Setup Info) if this means anything to you.
I have an HP AMD Athilon Dual Core Processor, 360GB, Windows Vista Home Edition.
As soon as I turn on the Cricut it says found new hardware - a box comes up - Windows needs to install driver software for your USB Serial.
I click on Locate & Install Driver Software but always comes back as can't install. Do I need to turn off Norton temporarily or pop up blockers?
Please advise.
Thanks again!!
I won't be back on until early evening.

Yes, it's better to turn off Norton while you are installing the drivers.
Try this method of installing the drivers directly from the SCAL program.
Open SCAL2
Click the Help tab at the top of the screen, then a drop down box appears, click on Install USB drivers.
