Craft Edge

I found a clipart I want to use. I DL it to my PC, opened it in Inkscape, saved it to a SVG file but when I try to open it in SCAL, I get an error message that says "FAILED TO LOAD THE SVG FILE". What am I doing wrong? Please help.. Thanks!

Thought I did this once but post never showed up, at least not that I could find. Sorry if it's a repeat.

Did you trace it in Inkscape? That is your first step.

Are you using the lastest update 2.012 which addresses the problem with svg files not loading. I have not had the problem but have read other posts stating there were problems with svg files loading.

I updated to the latest scal after I received the email. I did get it to work finally. I guess I didn't know you had to trace it first before saving as a file to use in scal.. WOW, so much to learn!! Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it.
