Save As svg

Ok, I admit it, I've taken the plunge and bought MTC as well as SCAL so I can back up and use my cricut images without having to use DS, which has been getting dusty since I bought it--finally have a use for it, LOL. It was just way too limited, now that I've experienced SCAL.
I own about 43 cartridges, and am just doing my first backups now--so far, works like a charm. However, they suggest you put multiple images on your mat, which makes good sense since if I were doing it one image at a time as an svg, I'd be old and gray by the time I finished. But that ends up with all these images grouped together, so they have to be broken apart and ungrouped to be used individually. I hate, and do not understand, how to break apart images in MTC. I did it in SCAL, it was so easy. Problem is, then in order to save the file, I have to save it as a scut file instead of an svg. The only other way I can achieve this, is through inkscape. I know how to do this, but how much easier would it be to be able to just import these images into SCAL and then break them apart and save as separate svgs? With the added separate page function we have now, this would be awesome.
I'd really like to see this as a new function in SCAL. It is something MTC (what little I've used, through their gallery) is able to do, ie. you can save as .mtc but can also import and save any file as .svg even if it was .mtc to start with.
I think it would be really helpful.
Anyway, thanks for listening!
