Craft Edge

I am new to inkscape and have a couple of questions. first how do you set the size of the image to be cut? I don't see anywhere to set the size in inches. What am I missing? I scanned a image from my scanner and it has a couple of black spots in the background how can I get rid of this?. Thanks for any help anyone can give me. Lesia

For Inkscape. Isn't it the X Y function at the top middle with the lock to use when you want it to stay at a certain size

In order to do any editing to that photo for spots you must do a trace bitmap first...

It's up at the top, but it doesn't say inches it says px or p something. I'm assuming pixels. You need to use the drop down to change it to inches.
