Will SCAL 5 work with MacBook Pro OS Ventura. I am currently running Big Sur and want to upgrade to Ventura, but don't want to run into problems with SCAL %. TIA for response.

Yes and no. We had someone on Ventura during SCAL6 beta testing and she ran into a handful of bugs that I didn't experience on my Mac running Monterrey. Those were addressed but I don't believe there have been any SCAL5 updates since Ventura was released. Think about updating to 6 since the price is quite reasonable and there are some really nice features added.
